There is no better feeling than giving someone you love a really special gift. Even better when you see their face light up as they’re opening it! Here’s a few ideas based on what I’m buying some wonderful people in my life (who have been instructed not to read this!).
sets that don’t suck- I’ve purchased all of these for various friends - this Chanel set, a moisturizer trio (perfect for friends living in cooler climates!), this Westman Atelier lip set, and some clean beauty goodness in the form of this travel body care kit. And now that I’ve tried Kate McLeod products for myself (amazing), I have this mini sampler kit in my cart for a few people.
fancy candle- yes, we all have enough candles but some are so fancy we hesitate to buy them for ourselves and those are the ones that make great gifts, in my experience. I’ve purchased this one and this one and they are both beautifully packaged.
something vintage- Go through your real real hearts or scour a flea market. I bought this beautiful vintage butterfly bag for my very cool art director friend in Brooklyn on TRR (not to brag, but she loved it). Rhetorical question but do you have a friend with a favorite band? Chances are there’s a cute tee over here for them if you don’t have time to scour eBay. I sent my Texas dwelling bestie this one.
kid stuff- a no fail gift for anyone with a baby is a magnetic me onesie, that’s what I bought my best friend who has a 3 month old (he is SO perfect it makes me get teary eyed, but anyway). Books and clothing are always a hit, if you’re buying clothes size up! A gift card to a local book store is also a sweet idea so kids can pick something out for themselves. BTW, worth mentioning that if you’re gifting something to a new mom it’s nice to include something that’s not just for her baby. My sister bought me these and I love them and I bought this hat for my best friend.
for the friend that’s always losing her wallet (me)- a fancy card case is pretty foolproof, bonus points if it’s not black so it stands out in a roomy tote. also love this bottega green, a classic. I realize these are $$ options- some finds from the TRR for you in the form of this limited edition prada and yellow Bottega.
Self-care- I never knew how important this is until I became a mom, but having an uninterrupted hour of you time can do wonders. Even better if it’s at a spa. I am treating one of my friends to a massage and another to an acupuncture session.
worth mentioning that Sephora is doing 20% off right now (with code HAVEITALL), making it a great time for stocking stuffers or gift sets. My picks- this mini face spray, Gucci perfume set, or eye-gels (these are on my personal wishlist).
better sleep- I’ve been using this Magnesium powder to help with insomnia and it’s been a game changer! Will be gifting to lots of people this year, along with these delicious gummies.
For the girl on the go- No one looks at a cute pair of shoes and says “Oh, no thanks!”, am I right? For your friend that’s always traveling, or the one who actually *enjoys* hiking, or the busy mom- a fresh pair of sneakers is perfect! Personally, these are on my list, but also love the idea of a clean white pair for your friend with a fancy gym membership. I wear these - my most comfortable pair, to the park with my daughter.
I’m at the age where most of my friends who don’t have kids do have dogs (my husband and I are about to have two of each because evidently we’re insane). This notebook (or this one, for my cat lady friends!) plus a candle makes a sweet and thoughtful little something.
Bonus idea- my sister asked for bag charms, so I bought her this one and this one. Would also be fun to DIY something if you’re crafty!
