bathroom faucet filter- This was on my personal wishlist because we live in an older house and while it has been refurbished, I’m not so sure the sink is *that* new. I love it and have noticed a difference in my skin one week post installation. I got the chrome but it comes in a very fun pink and blue.
fancy towels- Despite having lived in Los Angeles for almost a decade, I still have a penchant for a good monogrammed towel, especially for kids. I just got a set of these for my daughter (and another for baby #2). Very helpful when it comes to laundry and also just CUTE and super soft.
the best sweatshirt- At this stage of pregnancy I’m really relating to Regina George’s infamous “these sweatpants are all that fits me right now” line. I’ve tried them all. Or at least that’s what it feels like. This crewneck is the coziest. I also love the simple knit dresses from this brand.
kitchen stuff- I hate a messy kitchen. More specifically, cluttered countertops. So, I bought a nice breadbox and upgraded my fruit stand situation. It also came to my attention over Thanksgiving that I needed pot holders, so I bought these.
washing your face- I finally get the hype. These have changed my life. I even bought the fancy bamboo box to store them in to make the whole situation prettier. If you have a guest room I highly recommend purchasing to save your nice hand towels any potential late night make-up removal residue. I’m also a big fan of these micellar pads- the textured side is just enough to remove any excess make-up your cleanser didn’t but doesn’t irritate sensitive skin.
a two-step make-up routine- After I wash my face each morning, I moisturize and then use a few drops of this tinted SPF. After that, I add everything else (mascara, bronzer, etc, etc.) whenever I can (typically after daycare drop-off or….. in my car). So far on this holiday break, the ‘everything else’ part has yet to happen, but I’ve been relying on a few swipes of concealer so I don’t look as tired as I feel and some tinted lip balm.
something just for YOU- By now I’ve realized that a LOT of ‘holiday magic’ I experienced as a child was the invisible labor of my mom (if you, too, are lucky enough to have a great mom- thank her), and I’m trying to create the same for my own daughter. Guess what? It’s exhausting. If you are the primary magic maker in your household this holiday season, don’t feel guilty when you sit down and take a break, whether that’s in the form of buying yourself a weird fancy necklace, turning on Gilmore Girls, taking a walk or calling your best friend (all of the above for me), do what you need to do to maintain your sanity.
BTW, if you are reading this on Monday- you can still get stuff from Shopbop in time for the holiday, so I’m sharing my gift guides (lots of recs from there) below. I’ll be back later this week with some of my 2024 favorites, but I can’t want to spend the next few days offline with my husband and daughter (and our two pups!). Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and thank you for reading!
XO, Liz

Eterne and Sophie Pavitt; you really hit on two of my favorite brands! Also, I have been using those disposable towels for a while and found that I can cut them in half since they are so huge. Though it is too much work sometimes😉
Thank you for the shout out - you are a great Mom to Margot and you and your sister are worth every bit of the effort I have put forth every Christmas! I like your idea of doing something for myself and jewelry is always a good idea!!XO
