what I’m buying:
another cropped cardigan. the perfect date night top. a cool crewneck. a fun bag in the colors of the team my husband works for (this is a shopping newsletter, not a sports one, so I won’t go into further detail). My dream leather jacket. A white cashmere tee. Quite frankly, a mish mash of items when you put them all together, but that’s what sale season is for- refreshing your everyday wardrobe and investing in stuff you’ve been eyeing.
worth your time…
FWRD- a cheaper alternative to the infamous Khaite belt, here. Fun cocktail glasses that make me want to host a dinner party. Black cargo pants, in case you don’t already own a pair. A beautiful brown coat that reminds me of the Jil Sander one I bought at A Current Affair and can’t stop wearing. You can’t go wrong with classic black sunnies or a scarf.
LUISAVIAROMA- Extra 20% off sale with code FR20. I’m buying a jacket I already own in a different color- specifically, this Acne bomber. It is the perfect cropped length with high waisted leggings/jeans/etc. Also under consideration is this little date night dress by Blumarine. Very fun. My favorite shoes are deeply discounted, too (I’ll forgive the Bergdorf’s salesman who told me they were an exclusive).
SSENSE- this cool denim pouch for the Gen-Z kid in your life. a quality sports bra that isn’t see-through. I love this funky Marni knit, probably because it reminds me of something one of my art school professors would wear? Immediately added this Collina hoodie to my cart. This site can be quite overwhelming, I recommend going to the sale section and shopping by your favorite designers or size.
Net-A-Porter - a striped knit dress, conservative enough to wear around your family but cool enough to wear everywhere else, too. I can’t believe these Manolos are so marked down! My sister got me this gorgeous Jil Sander knit for Christmas and I think it’s perfect for New Years. As previously mentioned, I love a leopard moment and this almost sold out Dries coat is no exception. A fabulous sequin jacket also by Dries because the man can do no wrong. Biker jacket supremacy, always! This one is beautiful. Sign me up for these sparkle heels that look like something you could put on a Polly Pocket. Attention, BRIDES! Please someone buy this for your spring/summer wedding. If you’re trying to have fun with your work wardrobe, really love these zipper detail trouser pants.
Mr.Porter- I can’t not mention the infamous Loewe leaf bag. I placed an order last week and purchased the sweater pictured below, a crewneck, and this tee (returned the tee, but it is cute IRL). I’m purchasing these sneaks for my husband. If you’re not shopping for the man in your life, I recommend sifting through this sale by designer, which will weed out the endless Calvin Klein boxers and Nike t-shirts.
in the Loewe mushroom sweater (wearing an XS, runs very large!)
Nordstrom- The SPACE sale is a reflection of their seemingly random picks, but it’s good if you’re tired of neutrals. This ERL knit is cool if you’re a neon girly. A reversible jacket that could still count as a statement piece, fun! Fashion girl rainboots. In case you need a new beach bag. As previously mentioned, I bought this leather jacket that I’ve been patiently waiting on to be marked down- no bargain, but now 40% off.
MyTheresa- These preppy adjacent platform Stella heels (can personally attest to their comfort). Red sunnies in case you’re denial that Christmas is over. A denim puffer jacket and long gloves if you’re enjoying winter weather.
Moda Operandi- Another dress for the spring/summer brides. Pretty Jil Sander dresses, one in black and this yellow one if you’re in the mood to be daring. A gorgeous wool coat that almost makes me want to live somewhere snowy.
MATCHES- I know I’ve already mentioned Loewe sunnies; these are full price at every department store right now but decently discounted here. A stunning but simple clutch. I bought this knit halter top, because I live in the valley and it’ll be swelteringly hot in just a few months.
TheRealReal- A Phoebe Philo era Celine hobo. Hear me out, I think green bags are more useful than we give them credit for, and this 2022 Prada bag (at 50% off retail) is no exception. If you still need to get someone a gift, this new with tags sweatshirt is fun and practical. Also new with tags is this very cool Toteme jacket! This belt could easily spice up a white tee and jeans look. How about this almost 85% off retail Bottega dress for NYE? It’s perfect.
Shopbop- Bought these Stella trousers a few weeks ago and now they’re an extra 30% off, so basically almost free (girl math). Got some fabulous slippers for my sister this Christmas and those are an extra 30% off, too. Other finds include patchwork jeans, a marni dress I’m very tempted by, a festive feather trimmed dress, a cozy jacket with a detachable collar (makes it slightly less seasonal), a metallic mini skirt, and this bomber jacket I own and wear frequently. This polo and blazer both have potential as well. I purchased these lace shorts earlier in the season, which I think can be styled easily with a chunky knit and heels.
wearing the bomber jacket (size 32 for reference!)
if we’re being practical-
work friendly silk blouse
blue & white button down
black ankle boots
if we’re being extra-
under $100 finds of the week-
sheer layering top - perfect for a night out or with a swimsuit if you’re lucky enough to be traveling somewhere tropical.
black halter- looks very flattering.
black longsleeve- I own this and love it.
BTW- if you’re looking to support a wonderful small business, my friend Jami-Lyn of Modiste (aka an amazingly well curated boutique and online store, read more here) has generously offered us a discount with code BADINFLUENCE. This cozy slip dress, crochet maxi, and velvet bomber are all on my list.
