I don’t know if you follow Allison Bornstein but I think her breakdown of the Olsen twins actual style recently is so interesting. The fact that while they create quiet luxury, minimalist clothing they don’t actually dress that way. They dress more like you with a mixture of luxury, vintage, and funky items. It makes me see that their clothes are meant to be, like you say, used to connect the dots of an outfit not necessarily worn head to toe.

Good point. I went to the UES store and the clothes are a bit austere but the featured jeweler was crazy baroque so there was a suggestion that you need some hot sauce

I actually think you’re COOLER than the typical The Row girlie (which sometimes is where I land/aspire to land)! I keep going back to intuition and following our guts as to what feels good to us and I love that you’ve taken from the brand what feels good to you and left the rest behind. Perfection, really!

You are way too kind!!! Thank you! I think that is my aim with all brands from here on out.

Hearing you say that you would be intimidated walking into The Row store is an interesting summation of the brand. I know no more on-the-pulse woman when it comes to style than you so I do think The Row likes to be seen as and treated as aspirational (for everyone!).

Some of it is PTSD from doing pulls for a big stylist (who I’m too scared to name) when I first moved to LA and going to all the boutiques and having no idea what I was doing 😂 but yes I think they want that aspirational vibe and they don’t want it imitated either with all the rules about phones and cameras at their shows

Would love your thoughts on the Astra vs India bags!

I love the India bag for travel and for days when I have appointments where I’ll be trying to write and want to bring my laptop. It’s not quite a duffle but def not a shoulder bag. The Astra is a nice size shoulder bag and could fit a kindle, my small makeup bag, wallet, phone and a charger or two. Not much more. But I love it in black as an everyday go to bag. Hope this helps!
