The first gift my husband ever bought for me was an Apple TV remote. It was a few weeks after we started dating (around this time of year 8 years ago) and he’d quickly discovered that though I had an Apple TV, I had never turned it on. I still have it tucked away in a drawer with the box that held my engagement ring. I’m sentimental like that. Btw, I still barely know how to use one of those things.
He’s not a stuff person (which is a plus, I have enough for the both of us and closet space in this house is limited), and when asked for a questionnaire for my bachelorette party what the best gift I’d ever gotten him was he said becoming Gigi’s (our welsh terrier) dad.
This year we’ll be spending time together before we become a family of 4! (plus two dogs..so six heartbeats in this house! yes, we are insane) and while I may or may not have sent him links to a few of my Real Real hearts, I’m using Valentine’s Day as an excuse to treat myself and revel in fun fashion things.
Though I am lucky to be in love, I’m staunchly against the idea that this day is about looking good for the male gaze and very adamant that it should be whatever you want it to. Above is a curated edit of things I love and selected to inspire you to celebrate V-day on your terms. If you want to stay in, use some fancy eye gels and make something delicious in a heart shaped Le Creuset pot, do it! If you’d rather wear platforms, go dancing with your friends and bond with strangers in the girls room over your new favorite lip color, have fun! If you want to buy a bow adorned top, go to dinner with your loved one, come home and light some candles- enjoy!
Whatever you do, I hope your day is filled with lots of love.
XO, Liz
january style diaries
Hi friends! Wanted to share my January fits and what I purchased. It was, obviously, a weird month to document what I wore as we evacuated for 5 nights and lived in a state of paranoia even after we returned. My goal was to do weekly outfit posts BUT these pics are all I got. Praying for a more chill February but I am super pregnant with a two year old…
The Alaia flats are sooo good!
Oooo that Dries bag … xx
