I’m just going to come right out and say it- I broke my no-buy January this week. The last two and a half weeks have given me time and space to reflect on my wardrobe wants and needs (mostly wants), and do more decluttering and organizing. I like to think I’ve been much more considerate with my spending this year.

So, what was worthy of breaking my ban for? The answer is, of course, by The Row. I got this XL green tote, coincidentally worn by the one and only Zoe Kravitz this week. I had the rare opportunity for a small discount, so I seized the day (or, rather, my cart) and checked out. Will do a further review after it arrives, but I look forward to wearing it. I’ve shopped sparingly since my big buy, purchasing this coat (I have a potential cold weather trip coming up) and quickly exercising my right to return. The color was great, but I looked like an old man in a robe dressed to grab his newspaper at the end of the driveway, consider yourself deinfluenced! I also got these Tom Ford sunnies, I love the yellow but am fairly certain they would look atrocious with my bleached hair, so I opted for the blue (at a somewhat reasonable price here)
what I wore this week
I bought my husband Lakers tickets for Christmas (sports tickets remain a foolproof gift for straight men), and the game was this week. I opted for an all black look, because A- I am trying to wear more of the clothes I already own and not default to panic buying and B- purple isn’t my color. I wore the outfit below, minus the handbag, which I traded out for this tiny one as stadiums tend to have rather strict bag rules.
top. blazer (thrifted, but found the exact one on TRR for under $50 here). shoes (chanel 2023 loafers, can’t link but look for on secondhand sites!). bag. jeans.
A few weeks ago I mentioned the Sandy Liang x Little Beast collab. The sweater I ordered for my 9 year old welshie, Gigi, finally arrived and I love it. Wore my Sandy fleece (a few seasons old, try TheRealReal or Depop) for a walk yesterday and we had a matching moment. I’m not sure if she enjoyed it as much as I did, but I think the purchase was well worth it.
fleece. hat. sneakers. Gigi’s fleece.
bomber jacket. pants (purchased via TRR, similar here). sneakers. (do you think my husband could have told me about this rogue piece of hair sticking out because I think this photo would be 10x cooler without it. anyway….)

ordered (so maybe this doesn’t count yet?) I’m A Fan by Sheena Patel and can’t wait to see what the hype is about.
I love L.A. (unless I’m sitting in traffic) but New York street style cannot be topped. Love these outfits captured by the NYT here.

the perfect dress or a little too spot-on for Valentine’s day? you decide, but I love it.
this tea-cup emblazoned jacket by Sea is fun.
if you’ve been eyeing the Alaia flats, lots of styles restocked here and here.
as an Aries, I need this.
I love an accessory that doesn’t take itself too seriously and these earrings fit the bill perfectly.

First of all- please take it easy on me for my fast fashion purchase as I had just survived a madhouse of tweens at Sephora (turns out those TikToks are accurate). I don’t tend to walk into H&M very often (like ever), but when I spotted this grey jacket yesterday, I was shocked. It fit perfectly and looked surprisingly nice on. It is sold out online, but if you find yourself at the mall this week pop into H&M’s sale section and for all of $21.99 it can be yours, too! I want to note, again, I’m not a fast-fashion girl, but I do love finding the best version of an item on your wishlist and a grey bomber had been on mine for quite some time.
if you’re new here, thanks for reading & subscribing. if you enjoyed today’s letter, please forward to a fashion-loving friend who might enjoy it, too!

the H&M jacket, if anyone is curious!
First of all TY, for the callout but also for the amazingly juicy goodness you keep bringing. And I love your bag! May I say "well done" without being too much on an enabler. At the same time, you also identified for me a bag I've been wondering about -- Andrijana Savic's on IG. I kept zooming in like nope, not an Hermes Paris/Bombay. So grateful! xoxoxo
