Hi friends!
We are heading to Florida this week and while I am eagerly anticipating seeing friends and family, I’m terrified of flying cross-country with my 15-month old. So far my packing list includes a black dress, birkenstocks, long denim shorts, a cropped jacket, this vest, and sneakers. I look forward to breaking out my new tote, will report back on how it holds up.
also- some housekeeping! Last week I linked these shorts multiple times in place of these lovely red flats and leopard pants. My bad!
Anyway, let’s get into it. This wishlist is tailored to my wardrobe wants and needs and obviously mostly wants. I hope it serves as inspiration for you to create your own, especially after a closet clean-out. It is way easier for me to notice the gaps in my wardrobe after sorting through everything. My closet has been feeling very pared down as of late, and I’m craving an infusion of FUN in the form of colorful socks, new shoes and sparkly jewels with some updated basics sprinkled in for good measure.
the wishlist.
crewneck sweater (preferably black or grey for peak versatility) - I find that for whatever reason some of the best sweaters can be found in the men’s section and this one (under $200!) is no exception.
The bigger the bag, the better - This silver bag is show-stopping and would make the most mundane outfit stand out and for that reason it’s at the top of my list! Honorable mentions go to a very roomy leather bag by The Row and another Bottega masterpiece. Btw, if you’re into the bowling bag shape like me, peep this red Prada find.
Black jeans - ordered this pair from my favorite short-girl friendly brand, Nelle Atelier (more on that here).
Loafers (ivory or cream) - splurged on a Chanel pair I’d been eyeing for the better part of 2023, but these and these are also lovely.
Denim accessories- these mules & this bag, specifically. Seems like they would be perfect spring/summer pieces.
This set is wonderful because it looks like pjs but I think I could wear it to daycare drop-off? Also love the mix and match element. Hmmm…..
Fancy knits- Unless I can find them secondhand somehow, these are likely to remain on the wishlist but I had to mention because this red Prada knit is just perfect and there is some versatility in this metallic Saint Laurent piece that I find myself adding to cart at least once a week.
Fun earrings! that aren’t hoops because those get caught on everything and sometimes (most of the time) I don’t have the time for that. Love this clover pair.
Leopard is a neutral! - Consider that my official slogan since it is, after all, an election year (ugh). Still thinking about these. I’m a shoe girl, what can I say.
Blazers- I’m on the hunt for a cool, modern blazer. I love an embellished piece like this one with Tibi’s signature ring or this oversized, chain adorned piece by R13. A very nice sale find here that I wish was available in my size.
Red socks- Fine! I will give finally into this trend. The Pinterest girls are influencing me. Bought these to pair with the aforementioned Chanel loafers for a true high/low moment, stay tuned. If I like them and decide to splurge it will most definitely be on this set.
A very special knit by Christopher John Rogers. No notes, she’s perfect.
A fancy necklace- no special occasion needed, would love to pair this with a white tank.
Khaite studded mules- the perfect dressy-but-not shoe. I love the thought of these peeking out from long black pants or baggy jeans.
You know what I always forget to pack? A good cover-up. We are headed to Hawaii in a few weeks and I’m eyeing this tee to throw on over my bikini. It’s fun and not serious, which is really the mindset I hope to be in as I head to the pool.
My best friend sent me this article on the newest Wales Bonner x Adidas sneakers and I need a release date! The blue is life-changing, especially considering it is the color of the sports team my husband works for, so these are going in the need column.
By the way! I am no fan of dupe culture but I found a nice alternative to my Miu Miu blazer here.
what I bought this week
cropped cashmere tank, a classic.
another men’s sweater. they’re superior!
fancy lip balm
red nylon Prada shorts on The Real Real. pictures coming soon!
restocked my favorite masks. I try to do them once a week and have seen a noticeable difference in my skin.
my favorite lipstick right now is this one in the shade millennial. I bought it on a whim last week but now want to stock up.
As I’ve mentioned before, dresses in general are a challenge for me but I ordered one that gave me 90’s Ralph Lauren vibes in the best way for my upcoming Hawaii trip.
I shared these in last week’s letter and ended up buying for myself. They’re keepers!
I also shared this Hommegirls skirt last week and just didn’t love the fit on me, but the trousers are excellent and only need a slight hem.
trousers (please excuse the dirty mirror).
sneakers.
Okay, that’s all for me! I need to pack! Talk Sunday.
xx, Liz
So many great finds. The clover earrings would be a fun gift for when starting a new job, promotion or hitting a special milestone
