Hi friends! Pardon the delay on this - I had a crazy schedule last week, leaving the house much more than usual (I tend to hibernate during this time of year) - mom stuff like touring daycare tours and playdates and fun work stuff like a Prada event. I’ve been thinking a lot about what it looks like to get dressed in this not quite winter but not quite spring weather and brainstorming transitional looks to inspire you.
Below, a few ideas:
(left to right) Acne flannel. Sovere Khaki set. Anna Sui floral. FP yellow linen set. Tarot Card set. Tibi set. Deiji studios set.
Buy a set in a cool pattern or spring color (that you’ll actually wear!) and break it up. The key here is to make sure you like both pieces. I got this flannel set but rarely wear the pieces together but don’t feel like it was a wasteful purchase because I love the fit of the shorts and the flannel. The top is a nice layering piece and the shorts are fun with boots or a silky trench. Ideally with a set (at any price point), you’d be able to make at minimum three outfits - which is why they’re great for traveling! Free People actually has a section of their site dedicated to sets here, I love this one.
Wales Bonner track pants. Loewe anagram track pants. Tibi joggers. Rotate black nylon joggers. BDG green track pants.
As soon as the sun starts making more of a regular appearance, I can pretty much guarantee I’ll be spending more of my time outside. This lends itself to a sportier form of dressing- maybe a onesie with a bomber and embroidered cap, or track pants with my knits instead of wool blend pants or jeans. I am biased towards an Adidas double stripe or Nike swoosh for an extra sporty vibe but there are lots of good options at various price points, these (20% off with code SPRING20) are a nice in between that would probably pass in a more corporate environment.
Proenza blue bag. Gucci Horsebit. Jil Sander pouch. Staud beaded bag. Louis Vuitton speedy. Isabel Marant birkenstocks. Bottega green bag. Marni raffia bag. Sporty & Rich Sambas. Loeffler Randall heels. Marni woven loafers.
I think the phrase “pop of color” is annoying so I’ll try not to use it and just say this - brighten up your outfit with a colorful bag, shoe or pair of sunnies. I pulled out my polka dot LV bag last week and this bag for the aforementioned Prada events. Both gave my outfits a little unexpected element and felt more in season than a basic black bag would have.

(left to right) Area red dress. Miaou mesh dress. AGOLDE shorts. Simone Rocha bag. Ganni trench. Marni loafers. platform Vans. Daydreamer Bruce Springsteen tee. Marni horse necklace. Still Here jeans. Canvas and sequin tote.
Okay- so the Shopbop sale is good. I don’t want to spam you with an overwhelming amount of links, so here is my summary- lots of denim on sale. The shorts pictured above are AGOLDE, if you’re a fan of the brand you’re in luck, because there are tons of styles to choose from, perhaps most notably their Stella shorts and Poppy tank (a personal fave). Speaking of denim, the Levi’s overalls are included, as are the shortalls. If you need a party dress consider something from Area- pictured my favorite little red dress above but also love this one that I wore to my baby shower a few years ago. If you’re on TikTok and follow Morgan Stewart then you have probably seen that she’s “bringing back” classic vans. Personally, I’m not sure they ever went anywhere, but maybe that’s just because I’ve lived in California for almost eight years. Anyway, I got the platform version! A little more fashion-y to me than the classic low style. I would say that horse girl wares are about to become more popular than ever thanks to those pics of Bella Hadid and her cowboy boyfriend, and this Marni necklace is a fun accessory. Other picks include a Simone Rocha bag (she can do no wrong), Still Here jeans, a Ganni trench and my forever favorite leopard pants.
Like I said, last week was a busy one, but the highlight was definitely the Prada x Luna Luna event downtown. I went to a preview on Thursday afternoon and a party Friday night. You can see my looks here, if you’re curious. As someone who almost always chooses to stay in when invited to an event I’m proud of myself for going! and having fun! While downtown I popped by Dover Street Market. It is definitely worth stopping into if you’re in the LA area- their selection is a good mix of up and coming designers and established European brands (think MIU MIU and Braindead). I got this Supreme jacket that I really love - found for you here.
Going to talk about handbags later this week. Please let me know what you get from the Shopbop sale in the comments, or if this inspired your spring outfits! As always it is so appreciate when you forward this to a fellow fashion-lover or subscribe if you haven’t already.
XO, Liz
